Integrated Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
Admissions process
Admissions statement
All applications for our Undergraduate programmes must be made through the UK's central applications service, UCAS. You apply online completing just one application for up to five courses. Guidance on how to apply is available from your school, college, Directgov Young People or local British Council Office.
Once you have sent your application to UCAS, the form will be considered by the Integrated Mechanical and Electrical Engineering admissions team. Each application is given individual consideration, paying particular attention to the subjects studied, the reference and the Personal Statement. A number of factors, including academic achievement, and potential, your skills and aptitudes and your motivation and commitment will be considered.
Applications received before the UCAS deadline of 15 January 2012 will be given equal consideration. Applications received after this date may be considered if there are still places available.
Deferred entry
The Department views gap years positively and we are happy to consider applicants who are asking for deferred entry.
See also general information on deferred entry.
Open Days
Invitations will be sent to applicants to attend an open day between November and March. Students are strongly encouraged to take this opportunity to meet us in person, talk to some of our current students, and at the same time see the University and City of Bath.
Applicants from outside the UK are also welcome to visit the Department and are encouraged to email the Department beforehand to arrange an individual visit.
See also general information on Open Days.
Selection tests
In normal circumstances applicants will not be required to attend an interview or to sit additional selection tests. Decisions on applications are primarily based on the subjects studied, the reference and the personal statement.
