International Management and Modern Languages

Admissions process

Admissions statement

Once you have sent your application to UCAS, you form will be considered by the International Management and Modern Languages admissions team. Each application is given individual consideration, paying particular attention to the subjects studied, the reference and personal statement. Factors such as academic achievement, and potential, your skills and aptitudes and your motivation and commitment will all be considered. Applications received before the UCAS deadline of 15 January  will be given equal consideration. Applications received after this date may be considered if there are still places available, however as the number of applications per place can be very high, we strongly advise you to apply as early as possible. A decision will be made on whether to make you an offer as soon as possible. You will be notified by UCAS as soon as a decision has been made.

Deferred entry

We look positively upon a gap year, provided the year is spent constructively. We are happy to defer entry for students looking to take part in voluntary or paid work experience and/or travel. We find students benefit from increased maturity and have a better idea of what they want to do at university after a 'year out'. If you wish to defer your place you may use your personal statement to explain your reasons why and your plans. See also general information on deferred entry.

Open Days

Candidates who are made an offer will be invited to attend a Department open day. You are strongly encouraged to take this opportunity to meet us in person, talk to some of our current students, and at the same time see the University and City of Bath.

See also general information on Open Days.

Interviews

In normal circumstances, applicants will not be required to attend an interview.

Selection tests

In normal circumstances, applicants will not be required to sit additional selection tests.
