Mechanical Engineering with Manufacturing and Management

Admissions process

Admissions statement

Once you have sent your application to UCAS, your form will be considered by the Mechanical Engineering admissions team. Each application is given individual consideration, paying particular attention to the subjects studied, the reference and the Personal Statement. Factors such as academic achievement, and potential, your skills and aptitudes and your motivation and commitment will all be considered.

Applications received before the UCAS deadline of 15 January 2012 will be given equal consideration. Applications received after this date may be considered if there are still places available, however as the number of applications per place can be very high, we strongly advise you to apply as early as possible.

A decision will be made on whether to make you an offer as soon as possible.  You will be notified by UCAS as soon as a decision has been made.

Deferred entry

The Department views gap years positively and we are happy to consider applicants who are asking for deferred entry.

See also general information on deferred entry.

Open Days

Invitations will be sent to applicants to attend an open day between November and March. Students are strongly encouraged to take this opportunity to meet us in person, talk to some of our current students, and at the same time see the University and City of Bath.

See also general information on Open days.

Selection tests

In normal circumstances, applicants will not be required to attend an interview or to sit additional selection tests. Decisions on applications are primarily based on the subjects studied, the reference and the personal statement.
