Placements
Our industrial placement takes place after year two, it allows you to experience life in the workplace and is designed to make you more employable. Our strong links with industry provide opportunities to be employed by major companies and smaller businesses in the manufacturing sector. Mechanical Engineering students often work at:

Our placements are for 12 months and are supported by a dedicated Placement team throughout. However, we cannot guarantee that a particular placement will be available or that you will be able to earn a particular salary; applications for placements can be very competitive.
A placement will provide transferrable skills that support your Group Business and Design Project in year 3 and your Individual Research Project in year 4. It can also contribute to your application for Chartered Engineer status.
Careers
Our engineering graduates have a range of skills that make you attractive to prospective employers such as experience of working in teams, problem solving skills, creativity and numeracy. Graduates pursue active careers in both mechanical engineering and other engineering paths within the private and public sector.
