Natural Sciences
Admissions process
Admissions statement
All applications must be made through the UK's central applications service, UCAS. You apply online completing just one application for up to five courses. Guidance on how to apply is available from your school, college, Directgov Young People or local British Council Office.
Once you have sent your application to UCAS, the form will be considered by the Natural Sciences admissions team. Each application is given individual consideration, paying particular attention to the subjects studied, the reference and the personal statement. A number of factors, including academic achievement, and potential, your skills and aptitudes and your motivation and commitment will be considered.
Applications received before the UCAS deadline of 15 January 2011 will be given equal consideration. Applications received after this date may be considered if there are still places available.
Deferred entry
Gap years are viewed positively by the department and we are happy to consider applicants who are asking for deferred entry.
See also general information on deferred entry.
Open Days
All suitable candidates will normally be invited for a day in Bath where they will be given a short presentation, a guided tour by current students, a tour of Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics labs, together with opportunities to ask specific questions at several points during the day. There will also be the opportunity for candidates presenting non-standard combinations of subjects to discuss their application individually with a member of staff.
See also general information on Open Days.
Interviews
Generally applicants are not interviewed, but if you are offering unusual qualifications or it is some time since you have studied you may be invited for an interview before a decision is made.
Selection tests
We do not have any standard additional tests.
