Social Work and Applied Social Studies

An opportunity to build your understanding of sociology, psychology and research methods as well as social work theory and to relate this to the skills required for social work in practice

  • In addition to the University based learning, in the course of your social work training you undertake a total of 200 days assessed practice, as required by the HCPC.
  • The placement is an opportunity to use the theory you have learnt in a practical context and increases your employability.
  • In year three there is the opportunity to develop more specialised knowledge and practice with teaching on social work with adults and children and families as the focus of your University based and practice based learning.
