Admissions process
Admissions statement
Each application is given individual consideration, paying particular attention to the subjects studied, the reference and the personal statement. Factors such as academic achievement, and potential, your skills and aptitudes and your motivation and commitment will all be considered.
Applications received before the UCAS deadline of 15 January 2012 will be given equal consideration. Applications received after this date may be considered if there are still places available, however as the number of applications per place can be very high, we strongly advise you to apply as early as possible.
A decision will be made on whether to make you an offer as soon as possible. You will be notified by UCAS as soon as a decision has been made.
Deferred entry
We are happy to consider applicants who are taking or have taken gap years. A small number of applications for deferred entry will be considered.
See also general information on deferred entry.
Open Days
All applicants made offers are invited to attend a departmental open day.
See also general information on Open Days.
Interviews
Generally applicants are not interviewed, but if you are offering unusual qualifications or it is sometime since you have studied you may be invited for an interview before a decision is made.
Selection tests
We do not have any standard additional tests, however in some circumstances we ask applicants to submit written work either before an offer is made or at interview.
