Arts
The Institute of Contemporary Interdisciplinary Arts (ICIA) organises an extensive programme of live performances, exhibitions, concerts and classes on campus for University staff, students and the wider community.
As well as cheaper tickets for performances by visiting professional artists, students receive large discounts on the regular cost of a wide range of classes and workshops including photography, street dance, DJ skills and samba drumming.
Dance and theatre
Regular dance and theatre classes take place in the ICIA Arts Theatre and are led by professional tutors. You can enrol for blocks of classes each semester.
ICIA presents an exciting programme of professional dance and theatre performances open to all.
Music
As well as offering a range of music workshops and classes, the ICIA has lots of fantastic opportunities for musicians including:
- subsidised individual music lessons
- instrument loan scheme
- free practice room booking service
- professionally led ensembles
Visual arts
Professional artists lead a number of weekly workshops and classes. You can also attend weekend workshops for more intensive tuition.
ICIA organises an annual photography competition and has three exhibition spaces on campus hosting professional work.
Societies
The ICIA also works with the Students' Union to support the many arts societies on campus, encouraging students to get involved in the arts and media at any level.
There is a wide variety of student societies to choose from that involve the arts: artistic, dance, musical and cultural societies.
