Each undergraduate is assigned a Personal Tutor, with regular meetings scheduled throughout the first year to review progress and sort out any difficulties.

You will find skills training and coaching offered in many areas, we are committed to making sure you have the right abilities to help you concentrate on your studies.
Induction Skills Training
Gain insights into the best ways to plan your studies or hone your presentation skills. These are just some of the workshops available as part of the Induction Skills Training provided by the Students' Union.
Maths and Statistics Help
The MASH maths resource centre can give you extra maths help, plus offering sessions in maths for chemistry and help preparing for numerical assessment tests.
Writing Coaching
Improve your writing and get help with written assignments from our writing coaches from the Royal Literary Fund Fellowship. You can get one-to-one sessions with our writing coaches or join a workshop on specific writing issues.
Information Skills
Researching the information you need is a key study skill. The Library can provide you with the information skills you need. They offer a range of training courses and tutorials.
Work and Life Skills
Get training and skills that you can take with you into your career, including interview techniques, communication skills, effective group work and psychometric testing. These courses are offered by the Students' Union SORTED group.
Your Views Count
Student academic representatives are elected by students on each course to represent their views, providing a two-way channel of communication between staff and students about all aspects of our courses and the student experience.
