Questions about results
How can I find out the status of my application?
Check UCAS Track for the latest information about the status of your application.
I have just missed meeting the conditions of my offer – will I still have my place at the University of Bath?
The number of places available on each programme is limited and whether we will be able to confirm your place will depend on the results of other applicants.
For example, if we have 50 places available on a programme and 50 applicants meet the conditions of their offer, we will not be able to take any applicants who have not met their offer.
However, if only 45 applicants meet the conditions of their offer, we may have some flexibility to offer places to five applicants who have just missed their offer.
This means that:
- even if you have only just missed meeting the conditions of your offer, we may not be able to offer you a place
- we will not know if any places are available until we have received the results of all the other applicants
- we may not be able to make a decision on your application until several days after the A Level results are released - even if we have already received your results.
As soon as a decision is made you will be told about it through UCAS Track.
If your applications to the University of Bath and to your insurance choice have been unsuccessful, please check what is available through UCAS Clearing.
I am holding an insurance offer from you. I have not met the conditions of my firm choice but I have met my University of Bath offer. What happens now?
- check whether your firm choice university will still be able to offer you a place – even if you have missed your offer, this may still be a possibility
- if your firm choice is unable to accept you but you meet all the conditions of your University of Bath offer, your place at Bath is guaranteed
- UCAS will automatically confirm your place at Bath when your first choice institution has confirmed with UCAS that they are unable to offer you a place.
Check UCAS Track for the latest information about your place.
What do I do about accommodation if I hold an insurance offer from you?
You can apply for accommodation once your first choice university has confirmed that they are unable to offer you a place and your offer at the University of Bath is confirmed.
University accommodation can't be guaranteed if this happens after the 1 July accommodation deadline. We will offer you any accommodation that is still available or provide you with details of private housing.
I have applied for 2013 entry and have met the conditions of my offer. Can I defer my place until 2014?
Your request to defer will be considered, but there is no guarantee that it will be accepted – you may be asked to reapply. You should email ask-admissions including your UCAS number, course and name and let us know the reasons for your late decision to defer.
Re-marks and appeals
Our deadline for considering re-marks and appeals is 31 August 2013. Re-marks and appeals may be considered after this date but successful candidates may be offered a deferred place for 2014/15.
