Coaches - IMPORTANT

From time to time, departments use coach companies to facilitate travel to and from the campus. On these occasions, clear instructions should be given to the chosen coach company that their drivers must wait/pick-up/drop-off only in the designated coach bays in the East Car Park; it is also important that Security are informed.

As there are two different bus companies using the bus terminal (First Bus and Wessex Connect), there is no parking for coaches. The Arrivals Square is only for local buses, and private coaches must not use this area.

Failure to comlpy with this procedure will cause hold ups and congestion for the local buses, and the bendybus cannot manoeuvre easily. It could also lead to health and safety issues and delay commuters using the bus service.

The University will be communicating with those local schools who use coaches to transport children to the campus for swimming lessons and to use the sports facilities, asking them to observe the same ruling.
