University of Bath Traffic SurveyAs part of the University of Bath's new Masterplan, a traffic survey is shortly going to take place. The traffic survey is being undertaken on behalf of the University by IMA Transport Planning who are a Bath based company. The survey will run over a two week period, commencing on the 19 November 2007. During this time specific surveys will be undertaken. These will include the following :- Automatic Traffic Counts (ATCs) ATCs will be put down across the two main access roads to the campus to measure the amount of traffic to and from the University on a daily basis, over the two week period. Manual Traffic Count A manual traffic count will establish the existing directional split of traffic as well as information on people arriving on foot and bicycle. It will also record car occupancy to establish numbers of car sharers. The count will be conducted at the main road access points to the campus. Car Park Registration Survey A car park registration survey will establish the existing usage of the car parks by staff, students and non permit holders. Bus Survey A bus survey will survey the number of passengers embarking and disembarking at the University and the bus stops between Lower Oldfield Park and the University. This will mean that surveyors will be recording the number of passengers getting on and off the buses at various stops along the 18/418 route. Cycle Parking Cycle parking will also be surveyed throughout the day on campus. This will record the number of cycles parked at existing cycle racks across campus. Should you have any queries regarding the traffic survey, please contact Sarah Haigh, Estates Officer or Brian Schofield, Head of Security.
