Candidate preparation
This test is a communicative language test. Candidates should seek to extend their general language skills by practising their speaking with others, listening to British radio and television, reading newspapers and professional magazines in English and/ or attending general English classes.
All test topics and situations will be either professionally or personally familiar.
The test skills that are useful to practise are: reading and writing with a time limit, and writing notes of main information while listening, e.g. to the news. Candidates can get some language test familiarity by practising any kind of listening or reading test .
- if you are working in the UK, reading through documents and leaflets at your surgery will give you reading practice and useful vocabulary. Why not check the pronunciation of new language with your colleagues?
- UBELT have developed a number of profession specific Official UBELT Practice Tests. These practice tests have been written for candidates preparing for UBELT Tests.
