ELECTION OF STAFF REPRESENTATIVES TO SERVE ON TWO UNIVERSITY COMMITTEES
Nominations are invited for the remaining vacancies for staff representatives to serve on EACH of the following Committees from 1st August 2012 until 31st July 2015:
- Equalities and Diversity Committee
- Health and Safety Committee
The following have been elected unopposed to serve on these Committees:
Dr Paula Kover (Education and Research Job Family) on Equalities and Diversity Committee
Dr Abhishek Upadhyay (Management , Specialist and Administration Job Family) on Equalities and Diversity Committee
Miss Claire Marr (Operational and Facilities Support Job Family) on Equalities and Diversity Committee
Mr Rodney Vowler (Operational and Facilities Support Job Family) on Health and Safety Committee
Mr Graham Mott (Technical and Experimental Job Family) on Health and Safety Committee
Dr Mareike Posner (Education and Research Job Family) on Health and Safety Committee.
Their period of office runs from 1st August 2012 to 31st July 2015.
There remains a vacancy as follows:
Equalities and Diversity Committee (Technical and Experimental Job Family representative)
Health and Safety Committee (Two nominations were received for the Management, Specialist and Administration Job Family representative, so an election will be held shortly).

Equalities and Diversity Committee
The Equalities and Diversity Committee is responsible to Council and Senate for the promotion of equality of opportunity across the University. The Committee meets four times per year (usually Thursday afternoons); the dates for 2012/13 are 13th November, 21st February, 18th April and 13th June.
Health and Safety Committee
The Health and Safety Committee advises the University Executive Committee on Health and Safety and Welfare issues. The Committee meets four times per year (usually Tuesday lunchtime); the dates for 2012/13 are 18th September, 18th December, 19th March and 11th June.
