Research interests broadly located in linking the academic theory of organizational change with practical efforts to manage change in organizations, (resulting in two ESRC grants). This is done in the belief that theory has a bigger part to play in informing practice and that practice can help inform the theory. This means working with both practitioners and academics and brokering the relationship as seem in recent publications with academics such as Weick and practitioners such as Waterman, co -author of In Search of Excellence.
This style has direct relevance for teaching executives and speaking to practice on various MBA programmes.
