Contribution of human resource management to business performance among small and medium sized engineering companies in the engineering industry (1997-2001)
The Engineering Employers’ Federation awarded WERC two scholarships as part of its Centenary year activities. Two doctoral research students were selected to focus on the link between high commitment management and performance, and between types of pay systems and high performance. (Annette Cox, Victoria Downing, Alan Arthurs, Nick Kinnie and John Purcell).
As a result of this work, Annette Cox was awarded her PhD in 2001 and Victoria Downing Burn in 2002.
