The Impact of People Management on Business Performance
The project, funded by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development examined how and why HR practices contribute to improved business performance. The focus of the research was on twelve case studies of high performing organisations, or organisations which were seeking to move towards high performance through their people management strategies. These were studied intensively over two years. The companies included Nationwide, Tesco, Selfridges, Jaguar, Clerical Medical. (John Purcell, Nick Kinnie, Bruce Rayton, Juani Swart and Sue Hutchinson). The final report was published by the CIPD in May 2003 with further reports in 2004.
