Careers in Management Consulting This cross-cultural project examines how management consultants develop their careers within the context of a large globally-operating firm. The study examines how individuals interpret organizational career management practices and adapt to the gaps they perceive in institutionalized practices. The research adopts a cultural lens towards the relationship between careers and organizational career management, focusing on how organizational members use culture in their everyday actions and interactions. The project studies the careers of participants from the UK, Germany and Austria. Early findings have been presented at leading international conferences, such as EGOS, the European Group of Organization Studies, and the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management. |
