6. COMPARISON OF INPUTS

The inputs can be compared in two ways between the large and the medium/small organisations and between the three methods of gauging opinion.

The differences between large and the medium/small organisations are referred in the different sections of Section 2 and in the relevant Appendices. The information in Sections 4 and 5 is taken together because of the small sample size. Also these methods were aimed at gauging trends from uninfluenced individual opinion.

The three methods show considerable similarity of opinion and give additional credibility to the outcome of the workshop.

But it became clear that it is from the discussion that the needs and priorities of the medium/small organisations have a lot of overall similarities with the larger organisations, but that there are differences in emphasis, timescales and the nature of their relationships with research active organisations.
