The Alumni Fund Panel of alumni and staff met in March to distribute £30,000 worth of grants to projects which support research and learning enhancement across campus.

Successful applications included a project to develop mountain rescue drones (Department of Mechanical Engineering), supporting a PhD student to deliver body positive messaging in schools (Department for Health), and providing students with hands-on experience of cutting-edge technology such as 3D printing, through a lunchtime student makers club (Department of Physics).

Bath Pint of Science, the public engagement event taking place this week featuring researchers from across the University, was also supported in this funding round.

Where does the money come from?

Thousands of alumni and friends donate to the Alumni Fund every year.

Twice a year, our student fundraisers speak with alumni about studying at Bath, then and now, and gain valuable advice from alumni on entering the world of work after they graduate.

The donations made to the Alumni Fund through our student calling campaigns provide grants which support innovative research and teaching projects, student inclusion and life on campus.
