In semester 2 the Careers Service will be hosting a range of theme weeks. We will have all sorts of activities going on, hosted by our Careers team, employers and other organisations.

It's Valentines Day this week and love in the air! Look out for events to help you love your career planning and find your perfect opportunity.

18-22 February: International Careers Week (ICW)

Have you ever thought about working internationally? Working somewhere other than your home country can be an exciting and challenging opportunity. For many employers it is important that you have a global outlook and they value the experience you can gain from working internationally.

We have a range of events happening this week. Including a Careers Adviser talk on how to adapt your CV to different countries and an event find out more about other students' experiences of doing their placement internationally. 18-22 March: Future-proof your career: the impact of tech on the world of work

AI, VR, coding, blockchain, big data. These are the big developments in technology that have the potential to change how we live and work. In this week we will be thinking about how they might impact the world of work and your career. We will discuss what you can do to future-proof your career and skills.

25 February - 1 March: LGBT+

Find out about support and advice for LGBT+ graduates starting their first job. Learn what some companies are doing to support their LGBT+ employees.

4-8 March: International Women’s Day

International Women's Day falls on Friday 8 March. So we have a whole week of events about women in the workplace. Find out what employers are doing to close the gender gap in recruitment.

1-5 April: Disability and Mental Health

It is important to consider disability and mental health in the workplace. Events will discuss the pros and cons of disclosing a disability to an employer and how we can all be supportive colleagues.
