Caroline will lead IMI’s mathematical sciences consultancy services and cross-campus research collaboration programmes, working closely with external collaborators and academic staff at the University.
Caroline, who has over 15 years’ experience of working in the research and higher education sector in both the UK and Ireland, joins the IMI from the University’s Research and Innovation Service (RIS) where she was a Research Development Manager.
Commenting on her new role, Caroline said: “I am excited to be starting as the new IMI Manager to develop and grow the Institute’s many activities.
“I will be working with a great team to engage with companies and academic colleagues to apply mathematics across a wide range of research and consultancy projects.
“As someone who has spent the last seven years as research development manager, I am looking forward to using my expertise in new and creative ways to support the IMI.”
IMI’s Director, Professor Jonathan Dawes, said: “Caroline is well-known to many across the University; I’m sure that her cross-campus knowledge and network of contacts will benefit IMI tremendously and help us to grow further.
“Her enthusiasm for developing new external partnerships has already been evident in meetings and events, even before her official start date, so we’re very pleased to have her joining the team. I’m looking forward to working with her to continue to develop IMI and refine what we offer.”
IMI moves to bigger office space
Caroline joins IMI at an exciting time as part of the Institute is settling into bigger office space in Wessex House, located centrally on the Univesity of Bath campus.
University staff and external collaborators are invited to drop by to welcome IMI's new manager and see the new offices (Room 4.23, 4.25 and 4.27) on the building's fourth floor.
