We know this academic year isn't ending in the way the Class of 2020 expected, but we hope the plans outlined below will help make the most of graduation.
Virtual Celebration – Wednesday 29 July 2020
On 29th July the University community, local community, friends and family are invited to join a virtual celebration to celebrate and congratulate our graduating students, the Class of 2020. Visit the celebration web page
Tag photos and videos on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram throughout the day using #bathgrads. We have created special stickers and GIFs for you to use.
Although students are unable to don a cap and gown and take to the graduation stage at the moment, there are things you can do to celebrate in style.
We will be sharing a hat design in advance so that you can make your own hat to use on the day. Alternatively, official providers Ede & Ravenscroft are offering home delivery on gown hire for any students wanting to hire academic dress for the normal fee, with free postage and returns. Students who take up this offer will also receive a 50% discount voucher for future gown hire for physical ceremonies. The gown can be kept for five days, and providing it is ordered by 21 July it will be sent out to cover the virtual celebration date. Neither the University nor the Students’ Union will benefit financially from gowns hired using this service. Please note that if you attend a future ceremony you will still need to hire a gown again in order to take part. Gowns can be hired via the Ede and Ravenscroft website.
Publication of Student Names
Graduating students will be listed on the celebration web page. If you would prefer not be included in this list please email Gemma Noyce on firstname.lastname@example.org
Future graduation ceremonies
As previously communicated to students, we will invite those graduating this year back in the future to attend a physical ceremony. We are closely monitoring government advice and guidelines around events and social distancing, as well as analysing the feedback gathered from final year students on preferences for the timing of a future ceremony.
As soon as we are in a position to confirm our plans around future ceremonies we will be in touch with all summer and winter 2020 graduates. Certificates for summer 2020 graduates will be sent out via post in August 2020.
