We know this year isn't ending in the way the Class of 2020 expected, but we hope the plans outlined below will help make the most of graduation.

Virtual Celebration – Wednesday 2 December 2020

On Wednesday 2 December 2020, the University community, local community, friends and family are invited to join a virtual celebration to celebrate and congratulate our graduating students, the Class of 2020. Visit the celebration web page to find the event content.

At 10am we will be awarding honorary degrees virtually to James Scott who was CEO of the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust until earlier this year and Jacqueline de Rojas, President of techUK.

At 11am we will be streaming a special video for the Class of 2020.

At 12pm tune in to watch video messages from faculty staff.

You will also find messages from departmental staff on the faculty webpages linked to from the main celebration webpage.

Tag photos and videos on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram throughout the day using #bathgrads. We have created special stickers and GIFs for you to use.

Future graduation ceremonies

As previously communicated to students, we will invite those graduating this year back in the future to attend a physical ceremony. We are closely monitoring government advice and guidelines around events and social distancing, as well as analysing the feedback gathered from final year students on preferences for the timing of a future ceremony.

As soon as we are in a position to confirm our plans around future ceremonies we will be in touch with all summer and winter 2020 graduates. Certificates for winter 2020 graduates will be sent out via post in December 2020.
