Packs of home testing kits are available for students and staff members to collect, from 9am to 4pm, seven days a week including bank holidays. This is a drop-in service with no need to book. Kits are available in boxes of seven at the following locations:
- at the Sports Training Village reception
- the Virgil Building reception
- the West Accommodation Centre reception
- the Students' Union Finance Office
- the Fresh shop
- the Market shop
These tests are for people without Covid symptoms. Each pack contains seven test kits and should last for three and a half weeks.
After completing a home test, you should register your result with NHS Test and Trace. If you have a positive LFD test result, it is important to arrange a follow up PCR test. You can also request a PCR test kit by contacting West Accommodation Centre (WAC). The PCR test should be taken within 2 days, to confirm if you have Covid-19.
You can also order free packs of rapid lateral flow tests to be sent to your home or collect them from local pharmacies.
If it’s more convenient, you can also get a test in person from the B&NES facilities. A clinic is at 19 New Bond Street, Bath (at the bottom of Milsom Street ) in the city centre (BA1 1BP). Appointments are available in five minute slots and can be booked up to two weeks in advance on the B&NES website. When booking, simply select ‘other’ in the occupation category.
There's also a Mobile Rapid Testing Van; check the van's location around Bath and North East Somerset until the end of December.
