The University and The SU (Students’ Union) jointly launched the #NeverOK campaign in September 2017. The campaign followed a successful application to the HEFCE (now OfS) Catalyst Fund: student safeguarding on campus.

The University has secured additional OfS Catalyst funding to begin projects on combatting Online Hate Crime, and Religious-Based Hate Crime.

These projects will form part of the #NeverOK campaign that has expanded to include all forms of harassment, assault, discrimination and bullying.

To develop this approach the University and The SU have planned a number of new initiatives, including:

  • Creation and implementation of a comprehensive, stand-alone online reporting tool for students and staff.
  • Releasing an animated video (produced by Blue Seat Studios) containing advice on how to be an active bystander.
  • Further, specialist training for support staff on how to support students and staff whom experience harassment, assault or discrimination.

The campaign will continue to be present across campus and social media. You can follow the #NeverOK campaign on Twitter and Instagram.
