The Careers Team is excited to announce a new pilot Micro Internships programme, designed to place students into short-term, career exploration opportunities. The purpose is to enhance students’ core workplace skills, help develop their CVs, and overall employability. The pilot programme offers paid work experience opportunities that vary slightly in scope and duration, but usually consist of 35 paid working hours, spread over the course of a week. Students completing an internship on this pilot programme will earn £12 per hour.
Completing an internship of this kind gives you the flexibility to gain work experience and find out more about a potential employer or career path without making a long-term commitment. It’s also a wonderful addition to your CV when you come to apply for longer-term or permanent employment.
Applications are now open for internships at employers including Peequal, Fflow and QA Systems. There are limited places available, so we recommend checking out the vacancies and applying as soon as possible if you would like to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity.
To view all of the current vacancies, and apply, go to MyFuture and select ‘Micro Internships’ under 'Opportunity types’.
