Following the success of last year's workshop series, to support our researchers in developing their enterprising ideas, we can now announce a new series for 2021.
The programme is designed to equip you with skills and tools to assess opportunities and negotiate the path from idea to market.
Would you like to better recognise your own enterprising qualities as well as the entrepreneurial opportunities in your research environment?
The workshops will draw examples from successful spinouts and highlight key resources at the University and other local facilities available.
Researchers across all disciplines who are interested in developing their commercial acumen and expanding their enterprise support network are encouraged to take part.
This training series is available to University of Bath research staff and doctoral students. The course consists of three independent but interconnecting and interactive workshops which can be taken individually or as part of a series. Those wishing to take part in Workshop 3 (Entrepreneur Experience) are required to have taken Workshop 1 or 2.
- Spark: Spotting Great Ideas – one-day workshop, 14 April 2021
- Ignition: Build a Business – two-day workshop, 11 and 12 May 2021
- Lift Off: Entrepreneur Experience – five-day placement, 14-18 June 2021
Due to the latest advice about social distancing, the workshops will be delivered online until further notice.
Phil Brown, Head of Technology Transfer in Research and Innovation Services (RIS), says:
Our new series is an ideal opportunity for researchers to develop their skills for taking enterprising ideas to market. The workshops are a practical way to explore the means of commercialising research which can bring huge benefits to multiple stakeholders.
The Programme is funded by UKRI-EPSRC awards to the Doctoral College and through the Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) at the University of Bath.
