As of Monday 2 September 2024, prices in the campus food and drink outlets are changing.
Price increases
There are some increases due to:
- rising costs from our suppliers
- increased staff costs
- increased utility costs
- our ongoing commitment to offering sustainably sourced food
Value meals remain at £1.50
The popular value meals will remain at the same price of £1.50 for the third year running.
These budget meals are available at Campus Services food outlets all day, every day, to help support students and staff with the cost of living.
Meals include:
- pasta and sauce
- beans on toast
- soup of the day
- jacket potato and butter or baked beans
- tarka dhal with rice or pitta bread
Price decreases
We have also managed to reduce some menu prices for:
- Burritos, fish and chips and chicken and chips in Fountain Canteen
- Chicken burgers, vegan hot dishes and pasta bakes in lime tree
- Rice and dumplings in Pavilion Cafe
Charge for takeaway containers
During the last academic year, over 91,000 cardboard takeaway trays were used in our outlets.
To reduce this disposable waste, and in response to customer feedback, the existing takeaway trays will be replaced with reusable containers.
These will cost 50p each. The containers have a leak-proof lid and are made from recyclable plastic. They are designed for many uses, so we encourage you to remember to bring your container each time you take food away.
This not only saves you 50p, but helps us on our mission to Leave No Trace.
