Our Wellbeing Champions play a key role in promoting and supporting a healthy culture at the University of Bath by raising awareness around health and wellbeing activities and signposting to resources and support services.

Examples of activities that Wellbeing Champions may get involved in include:

  • taking an active part in promoting messages, activities and events
  • encouraging colleagues to access relevant health and wellbeing opportunities
  • sharing best practice and stories of success
  • signposting colleagues to relevant resources and services
  • role modelling and promoting a healthy culture within our community
  • promoting working with wellbeing in mind

The University of Bath signed the Time to Change pledge in 2014 and the Wellbeing Champion Network is part of our ongoing and developing health and wellbeing action plan.

Maintaining healthy boundaries

The Wellbeing Champion role is not a ‘pastoral’ role and establishing boundaries helps to protect everyone. It is important to recognise that Wellbeing Champions are not counsellors, psychologists or doctors who can diagnose health issues or have all the answers. However, please do talk to a Wellbeing Champion and they will be able to signpost you to additional support. Here is a list of our Wellbeing Champions

How to become a wellbeing champion

We are now recruiting for additional Wellbeing Champions and you can find out more about what the role involves from the Wellbeing Champions Booklet

If you are interested in supporting our commitment to wellbeing by championing and promoting the relevant messages, whilst also gaining valuable knowledge and skills, then we encourage you to express your interest at: employeewellbeing@bath.ac.uk.
