Pride Month is celebrated every June in tribute to those involved in the Stonewall Riots in 1969. Student Services are marking the month in a number of ways.

During June we will be decorating our areas of 1 West and 4 West to celebrate LGBTQ+ diversity. Students and staff are welcome to come and collect rainbow lanyards and pronoun badges from our helpdesk in our Centre in 4 West which will be available from the 14th of June.

Our Away Day which takes place this month, will be focusing on support for LGBTQ+ students, this includes training by the Diversity Trust in supporting LGBTQ+ students. The training explores the history of the LGBTQ+ community in the UK, as well as exploring language, terminology, definitions and the experiences of discrimination.

We are currently reviewing Student Services practices against the Stonewall Charter to ensure we are promoting and practicing inclusivity in our work.

We will be taking part in Campus Pride on 25 June so come along and see us!
