Undergraduates

These courses will help you to focus on your academic writing and improve it at a reasonable pace.

You will learn how to understand assignment tasks, plan and structure your written work, make your writing flow, use and reference sources accurately and write in an appropriate academic style.

You will have the opportunity to discuss and practise writing in the classroom with individual guidance on developing the academic writing skills you need for your assignments at an undergraduate level.

You will get tutor and peer support in these sessions and they will help you to understand your academic writing needs at university.

Postgraduates

These courses will help you to focus on your academic writing and improve it at a reasonable pace.

You will learn how to understand assignment tasks, plan and structure your written work, make your writing flow, use and reference sources accurately and write in an appropriate academic style.

You will have the opportunity to discuss and practise writing in the classroom with individual guidance on developing the academic writing skills you need for your assignments at a postgraduate level.

You will get tutor and peer support in these sessions and they will help you to understand your academic writing needs at university.

Students from the School of Management or the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences can enrol for Wednesday at 2.15pm to 3.45pm.

Please ensure you include the following details in your email:

Students from the faculty of Engineering and Design and the faculty of Science can enrol for Wednesday at 4.15pm to 5.45pm.

Students that use English as a first language

These courses will help you to focus on and improve your academic writing.

You will learn how to understand assignment tasks, plan and structure your written work, make your writing flow, use and reference sources accurately and write in an appropriate academic style.

You will have the opportunity to discuss and practise writing in the classroom with individual guidance on developing the academic writing skills you need for your assignments.

In these sessions you will get support from a tutor and work with peers that speak English as a first language. This will help you to understand your academic writing needs at university.

The next 8-week courses for students that speak English as a first language will start on Monday 22 October from 6.15pm to 7.45pm or Wednesday 24 October from 6.15pm to 7.45pm.
