Find out about how our long course can help you to improve the skills needed to find, evaluate and analyse the texts you will read for your studies.

Develop your academic reading

This 10-week course will help you manage your reading list, improve your note-taking and develop the strategies and skills essential to successful academic reading.

You will understand how to take helpful notes from your reading, and explore different note-taking methods. You will develop strategies to make reading academic texts more efficient.

You will learn to evaluate the validity of writers' arguments and will develop techniques to improve your critical approach to academic texts.

You will have lots of opportunities to discuss texts and get support from your teacher and peers.

The course is open for all undergraduate and postgraduate students who use English as a first or second language.
