Book onto a Doctoral Exchange session

What is Doctoral Exchange?

Our Doctoral Exchange series is a supportive, student-led, informal, round-table discussion forum that connects doctoral students with others, with a common shared interest. The focus is about sharing experiences with others, being able to ask questions and meet other students with an interest or experience in the topic.

Doctoral students can suggest a topic to facilitate a session on. Suitable topics may include:

  • Experiences of part-time doctoral students
  • Conducting fieldwork overseas
  • Interviewing techniques
  • Working with vulnerable adults
  • Equality, diversity and inclusion

Interested in facilitating a session?

We are looking for doctoral students who are interested in bringing groups of researchers together to lead our Doctoral Exchange sessions.

You'll need to suggest a topic that you think will generate enough interest, prepare some group discussion questions and of course facilitate the session. We'll also ask you to complete a short post-session blog that we can share with the wider community. In return, we'll give you a £30 High Street Voucher as a way of saying thank you.
