We want to make sure that you get the financial support you need to succeed in your studies at Bath.

We have a range of funding opportunities for undergraduate students based either on household income, personal situation or subject studied. These are usually awarded in the first year of study unless otherwise stated.

Additional Funding Support

Managed by the Student Money Advice Team


  • The Student Money Advice Team provides funding support and budgeting advice for students facing financial hardship.

  • Campus-based UK, EU and International Students can apply for a non-repayable grant from the Hardship Fund.

  • Students with a temporary cash flow problem caused by circumstances outside of their control can apply for a short term loan.

  • Bath Bursary and Gold Scholarship recipients who are undertaking an internship, voluntary placement or similar opportunity outside of a normal placement year may be eligible to apply for a Discretionary Internship Bursary.

  • The Alumni Fund Placement Grant supports Home UK undergraduates who undertake an unpaid placement year. Eligibility criteria apply.

  • Financial support is also available to assist students who require en suite University accommodation due to their disability, and who wouldn’t otherwise have applied for en suite accommodation due to it being too expensive.
