This course will help you improve your English and give you the confidence and strategies you need to achieve success in Cambridge English exams.

Cambridge English Certificate

This 10-week course will help you to improve your general English skills. You will improve your vocabulary and grammar and develop your reading, listening, speaking and writing skills.

You will develop exam taking strategies like reading and listening for specific information that will help you to achieve success.

You can prepare for three levels, C2 Proficiency (CPE), C1 Advanced (CAE) and B2 First (FCE).

The course is for all undergraduate and postgraduate students and staff who use English as a second language.

Erasumus+, exchange and visiting students can get 6 credits by completing one of these courses.

Cambridge English awards are accepted by many academic institutions, professional bodies and employers as a measure of your English level.

Obtaining a Cambridge English award increases your potential to develop your academic career and employability.

Cambridge English awards last a lifetime. You can take a Cambridge English award exam at the University of Bath in May.

Enrol

Before signing up please make sure that the day and time do not clash with your academic timetable using your MyTimetable.

You will need to register for and take a placement test so you can be put in the most suitable level for you.

Once you have taken the placement test, your teacher will give you the details of the course book that you need to buy (course requirement).

The next placement tests will be in February 2020. You will be able to register for one of the placement tests on 9 December 2019.

Register for a placement test on Tuesday 4 February 2020 at 6.15pm to 7.45pm.

Register for a placement test on Wednesday 5 February 2020 at 2.15pm to 5.05pm.

Register for a placement test on Thursday 6 February 2020 at 6.15pm to 7.45pm.

Business English Certificate

This 10-week course will help you to improve your business English skills. You will improve your business vocabulary and develop your reading, listening, speaking and writing skills for business.

You will develop exam-taking strategies like reading and listening for specific information that will help you achieve success.

You can prepare for the Cambridge BEC exam.

The course is for all undergraduate and postgraduate students and staff who use English as a second language.

Obtaining a Cambridge Business English Certificate increases your potential to develop your employability.

The 10-week Business English Certificate course is on Wednesdays from 2.15pm to 5.05pm starting on 9 October.

Before signing up please make sure that the day and time do not clash with your academic timetable using your MyTimetable.

You will need to take a placement test to check that the class is suitable for your level.

Once you have taken the placement test, your teacher will give you the details of the course book that you need to buy (course requirement).
