How to get help

Use the Research Computing TopDesk form to request help or support


To request help or support from the Research Computing Team, submit a request via our TopDesk form.

Use the form to get help using our HPC environments Nimbus, Anatra, Isambard or a teaching cluster.

The form is also our first point of contact if you need research software engineering support or help costing a research funding proposal.

Join a training course or book a support meeting.


Intro to cloud HPC for new users Training course covering all your need to know to start using Nimbus. From Unix and job scheduling to software modules, VMs, and running jobs in parallel.

Research and Grant Support
Book a meeting to learn how supercomputing can advance your research and get help costing research computing services into your next grant proposal.

Research Software Support
Get help and advice from the University’s team of Research Software Engineers. Available to researchers and doctoral students.

We welcome feedback and suggestions on how we can improve our services to students and University researchers.

You can contact the Research Computing Team by sending us a TopDesk request.

If you would like to speak to the head of the Research Computing team, please contact Stefano Angioni directly.

The Research Computing Operations Group oversee our work and ensure our services meet the University's research and teaching needs.

Please contact a group member if you feel our current services don't meet your needs or if you would like to raise an issue. They will then consider this and make recommendations.
