International college counsellors webinar programme - Spring 2022
A series of webinars, for college counsellors and advisors, to share insight into the lives of international students at the University.
Back by popular demand, the University of Bath is very pleased to introduce four webinars during this coming semester, aimed at university counsellors and advisors. These webinars will give you greater insight into the life of an international student at the University of Bath.
Hosted by the International Undergraduate Recruitment team, each interactive webinar will provide the opportunity for you to learn more from some of our professional staff experts at Bath, ask any questions, and hear first-hand from our international undergraduate students about their experiences.
We are happy to arrange a bespoke session for you or your students so please do not hesitate to email student-recruitment-team@bath.ac.uk if you would like to arrange something.

Carole Cox, Deputy Head of Student Immigration here at the University of Bath has the answers and is leading on a new webinar to guide you through the process. Carole will be joined by Pip Pisanu, UG Admissions Manager (International) and Sue Garrett, Undergraduate Recruitment Manager (UK and International) so that we can answer all your questions on applying through UCAS, with specific guidance on how the University of Bath admissions and immigration specialists can support this.

So your students are thinking about engineering?
This webinar has already taken place
For students who are academically capable, particularly with Maths and Physics, engineering is often the obvious choice, but what do they actually do when they get here? Is a MEng always better than a BEng? What is the difference between Robotics and Mechanical? What are the new trends in engineering? And how can students prepare for this profession pre-university?
As always, this session will feature an international student panel, we will also be joined by Dr. Sally Clift PhD, Associate Dean (International) in Bath’s world-renowned Faculty of Engineering and Design, and chaired by Ciara Newby, Head of Undergraduate Student Recruitment (International).

International Foundation Year – an overview
This webinar has already taken place
This webinar will provide an introduction to the foundation year and summarise the benefits of why it might be a solution some of your students might not have thought about. This session will be chaired by Jess Bower, Undergraduate Recruitment Manager (International) who also looks after the University's International Foundation Year. It will feature David Young, Learning Partnerships Officer.
You will hear from our International Foundation Year graduates who have experienced foundation year applications, admissions, and transition. There will be many opportunities for questions and we would like this session to be as interactive as possible.

Preparing for university – joining an international community
This webinar has already taken place
University is a big step for anyone and coming to live in a new country can be overwhelming. At Bath, we work hard to ensure the transition from high school to university is smooth.
This session will give us the opportunity to share some of this good practice, featuring Harriet Byrne, International Student Experience Project Coordinator, a panel of international students, and chaired by Ciara Newby, Head of Undergraduate Student Recruitment (International). It should provide you with some useful insight about what happens next once students arrive, and our panel will reflect on key learnings from high school, as well as what they wish they knew. This will be an interactive and engaging opportunity for counsellors from around the world.
