You’ll gain a strong foundation in programming, software development and contemporary themes in the industry.

The course gives you a broad overview of computer science, with opportunities to specialise in a number of different research areas.

You'll study in a research-led department within a supportive postgraduate community. You’ll be using our bespoke computer laboratory and with our strong links to industry in the UK and abroad you'll be exposed to the latest ideas and technology.

We offer a broad range of optional units including entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, cryptography, and security and integrity.

Entry requirements

To apply for this course from India, you need to have a bachelor’s degree with a final overall result of at least a First Class. Your degree may be in any subject, but you must demonstrate evidence of relevant quantitative skills (especially algebra and calculus) either through your degree study or by alternative means.

Your career

You’ll gain the knowledge and transferable skills for a career in a range of industries, or for further study at PhD or EngD level. With computer science forming an essential part of a number of key industries, our MSc graduates are highly sought after by employers. Graduates from the Department have gone on to work in areas such as IT consultancy, software development, banking and education.

Funding

We are offering one full tuition fee scholarship to a master's student from India. To apply, you must hold an offer to study on one of our MSc courses and apply for the scholarship by 27 April 2020.

2-year Post-Study Work visa

The UK government has announced a new two-year Post-Study Work visa, expanding opportunities for talented international students to build successful careers in the UK.

The new ‘Graduate’ route will be open to all international students and will allow you to work, or look for work, for two years after completing your studies.

Accommodation

As an overseas, fee-paying postgraduate student, applying by 17 June, you are guaranteed accommodation. You could apply to live on-campus, in our brand new dedicated accommodation for postgraduate students, or in town.

Living in Bath as a student

Studying at Bath means you'll live in a vibrant, friendly, historic city, with lots of activities for you to join. You can go on nights out, get active, treat yourself by going to Britain's only natural thermal spa or a boat trip along the river.

You'll be able to meet other postgraduate students through the Postgraduate Association, which organises regular events.

There's also the Bath Asian Society, which is one of the biggest cultural societies on campus. They organise events to enjoy and explore South Asian cultures.

Support during your studies

You can get advice, support and guidance on an academic and personal level throughout your studies at Bath.

We'll assign you a personal tutor to support you in your studies. Your tutor will guide you in your academic progress and support your personal and professional development throughout your time here. They can help you adjust to studying at university and point you in the right direction to get any other help you might need.
