Take part in our research into thinking and movement in people with pain
Help us research information processing and physical movement in people with chronic pain. You’ll complete questionnaires and computer and physical tasks.
Take part in this research study
During this study, we want to explore how people with chronic pain interpret different types of information and how this relates to their thoughts and behaviour about pain. We're also interested in their experiences of pain during physical movement.
Eligibility
To take part in this research study, you must be:
- 18 or over
- living with chronic pain (pain lasting longer than 3 months) located below the neck
You can’t take part if you are pregnant or have an uncorrected visual impairment that may affect your ability to view a computer screen.
What you’ll get for taking part
You will be reimbursed for reasonable travel to and from the University and receive £20.
University of Bath students and staff are not eligible for travel reimbursement.
What you’ll do
You will attend a 60-minute lab session in 10 West on our University of Bath campus. During this, you will complete questionnaires about how you think and feel about pain, and a series of computer-based tasks.
You will then be asked to complete a lower limb movement task. Throughout this, we will record your movement and speech using video and audio recording.
A week after this lab session, you will complete a 15-minute online questionnaire relating to their experience in the lab.
Deadline
This study ends on 30 June 2025.
