We’re organising an art-based project that will enable you to create a work representing your student journey and experience. This project is open to people of all skill levels - you don't need to be an artist or good at art to take part.
Through this project, we want to share and celebrate the experiences of our fantastic postgraduate students.
We know members of our student community have many interesting stories and experiences, and we want you to share these with us in the form of artworks.
The deadline to apply is 28 February 2025.
If you choose to take part, we’ll ask you to tell your story through an artwork of your choosing.
You’ll work alongside other students under the guidance of a professional artist.
The art you create will be displayed within our Faculty buildings on campus.
It will be open for all to see and, we hope, further illustrate our culture of belonging, celebrate our postgraduate community, and inspire future students.
To take part in this project, you must be a student studying a postgraduate degree within Bath’s Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences.

We’ll provide equipment and materials to support you when making your artwork. We’ll also provide refreshments.

This project has been given a favourable ethics opinion by the University of Bath, Social Sciences Research Ethics Committee [reference: 9067-10871].
We'll display the artworks on campus for everyone to see.
Our 'Routes to Roots' artwork exhibition will take place on 25 April 2025 (3pm to 4pm) in The Edge on our University of Bath campus.
