This unit aims to provide students with the necessary theoretical and practical tools to understand and work in a multi-currency professional environment.

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this unit, students should develop understanding of:
(i) Foreign exchange markets;
(ii) Determinants of exchange rates;
(iii) Assessing and managing risks in foreign exchange markets;
(iv) Origins and effects of financial crises.

(i) Foreign exchange markets and balance of payments;
(ii) International portfolio theory and diversification;

(vii) Managing interest rate risk;
(viii) Theoretical models of currency crises.
