To provide an advance knowledge on current topics on evolutionary functional genomics.

Learning Outcomes:
After taking this course the student should be able to:
* Evaluate comparative genomics approaches in understanding genome evolution.
* Analyse comparative genomics approaches in understanding the genomic basis of phenotypes.
* Critically evaluate the main sources of novel functions in the genome.
* Assess how comparative genomics approaches can be used in offering an insight into diseases such as cancer.
