To extend knowledge, heighten awareness, and develop an understanding of a range of contemporary sport and exercise science research topics, issues, technologies, and associated techniques/analyses.

Learning Outcomes:
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
* Demonstrate an understanding of contemporary issues facing sport and exercise science and scientists.
* Demonstrate an understanding of various techniques and methods employed by researchers.
* Critically appraise the research methods and techniques employed in contemporary sport and exercise science research.

Content:
Ten seminar presentations in selected research based topics given by departmental and visiting research staff. These presentations will address contemporary issues in sport and exercise sciences encompassing the following areas of work; Sport and Exercise Psychology, Sport and Exercise Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, advances in research techniques/analyses, and technological developments.
