Description: | Aims: This unit aims to provide the students with an understanding of the fundamental principles of portfolio theory and making investment decisions. Learning Outcomes: At the end of the unit students will be expected to be able to: (i) Analyze stocks, industries and markets for investment purposes (ii) Utilize asset management strategies to achieve specific investment goals (iii) Evaluate the performance of investments. Skills: Numeracy (T/A) Analytical ability (F/A) Writing skills (A) Time management (F/A) Use of IT, notably for information gathering (F/A). Content: Portfolio theory, stock/industry/market analysis, Tactical asset allocation, performance measurement. |
