To enhance the ability of our MSc students to deal with managing engineering projects, from design and product development to large scale production projects.
To deepen their appreciation of how project management can be applied to deal with a range of engineering applications.
To build project management skills that can influence industrial competitiveness and technology management practice in industry.

Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this unit the student will be able to:
* Illustrate the importance of project management in engineering
* Demonstrate the use of strategic tools such as NPV and portfolios
* Apply appropriate techniques for time, cost and risk management
* Choose appropriate methods for dealing with project variance and change requests
* Describe the importance of human factors in engineering project management.
