Further information on requisites Requisites: Before taking this unit you must take MN10311 and take MN20026. Only students who have an aptitude for calculus, matrix-algebra and basic econometrics are advised to take this unit.
Further information on descriptions Description: Aims:
The module aims to provide students with:
* understanding of fundamental theoretical concepts of equity valuation and investment
* applications of the theory to practically evaluate equity
* construct, manage and evaluate portfolios.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this unit, the student should be able to:
* value equity
* construct investment portfolios
* assess portfolio performance
* critically discuss current equity market events.

Investment decisions under certainty, investment decisions under uncertainty, investors rationality, risk aversion, Mean-variance approach, optimal portfolio and diversification, asset pricing models, market efficiency, portfolio valuation and management, development of equity markets (emerging markets, consolidation, integration, cross-listing, etc.).
