RSCM-AFD05: Doctor of Engineering (EngD) in Digital Entertainment |

This programme is not governed by the NFAAR, however, students who exit the programme early with a taught award (MSc or PG Dip) will be assessed under NFAAR-PGT: assessment regulations for students commencing study from 2011/12 onwards (students who commenced prior to 2011/12 should consult their programme handbook for their assessment regulations):- This programme has the following possible exit awards:
- RSCM-AFM01: Master of Philosophy
- TSCM-AFM37: MSc Digital Entertainment
- TSCM-AFL37: PG Dip Digital Entertainment
- Progression at the end of Semester 2:
- Students must normally achieve 60 credits with a taught stage average of 60% or higher to proceed on the EngD programme;
- Students with a minimum taught stage average of 50% may transfer to the full-time MSc Digital Entertainment or may apply to transfer to the MSc Digital Entertainment with placement subject to the availability of a suitable placement;
- Students with a taught stage average below 50% will not progress but may be eligible for the exit award of PG Dip Digital Entertainment if they have successfully achieved the equivalent of 60 credits across Semester 1 and Semester 2.
- Progression at the end of Year 1:
- Students must pass CM50170 and achieve an overall programme average of 50% in Year 1 to progress to the research stage of the EngD;
- Students who pass CM50170 but have an overall programme average below 50% may be eligible for the exit award of PG Dip or MSc.
- Progression at the end of Year 2:
- Progression from Year 2 of the EngD requires successful completion of all taught elements of the programme, submission of a satisfactory major report and completion of a successful oral examination.
- Final Award:
- Students will be eligible for the award of Doctor of Engineering, subject to approval, on submission of a satisfactory thesis/portfolio and completion of a successful viva voce.
