Description: | Aims: To introduce students to the economic contexts in which firms operate in France, to analyse key areas and aspects of change in the economic and industrial environment of French business, to familiarise students with relevant concept and language of French business environment. Learning Outcomes: On successful completion of the unit, students should be able to: * demonstrate understanding of major developments in the French economic and industrial environment; * show an understanding of the major principles and structures of the French economic system and policy; * present key concepts form the literature and demonstrate analytical skills; * to show knowledge and understanding of key aspects of the French economic and business environment in written and spoken French. Skills: Skills in critical analysis, conceptual thinking, precision in the use of written and spoken language, exercise of independent judgement, reasoned argument, teamwork, and the planning/conduct/reporting of non-quantitative research are taught and assessed in this unit. Language skills are developed in this unit. Content: Introduction to the French economic system and policy Introduction to key areas and aspects of change in the economic and industrial environment of French business Introduction to European integration and globalisation of the French economy Classes are conducted in French. |
