Description: | Aims: * To give students a systematic grounding in the basic structures of Italian grammar and syntax; * To enable students to use these structures correctly in short written texts; * To develop basic oral skills dealing with predictable content; * To gain understanding of oral and written material on a variety of practical and everyday situations. Learning Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to: * Demonstrate knowledge of basic grammar structures; * Use these grammar structures in written texts mostly in areas of simple narration and immediate need; * Display command of several basic communicative functions; * Demonstrate oral skills in a variety of familiar subjects. Skills: * Precision and creativity in the use of basic written language; * Make simple and effective oral statements in the target language; * Independent learning strategies. Content: * Written language: basic structures of Italian grammar and syntax; * Spoken language: audio-visual material, presentations, role plays, conversation. |
