Description: | Aims: * To progress further in Italian grammar and syntax up to approximately intermediate level; * To expand vocabulary and enable students to express themselves in a wide range of topics supported by pertinent lexis; * To extend students aural comprehension and oral skills to a larger number of situations and contexts; * To expose students to more complex written texts. Learning Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to: * Use and understand more complex structures of the Italian language; * Display command of a broader range of vocabulary; * Discuss about predictable situations with native and non-native speakers of Italian; * Use more complex structures correctly in longer written texts. Skills: The following skills will be developed further from semester one: * Precision and creativity in the use of written language, mostly in areas of practical need and narration of events; * Effective communication in the target language in a variety of real- life situations; * Independent learning strategies. Content: * Written language: more complex grammar points * Spoken language: audio-visual material, presentations, debates, role plays, conversation. |
